Network Marketing Review – Can You Really Make Money Sending People Cards?

From The Desk Of Jaime Soriano, Attraction Marketing Coach

As an active network marketer, I always like to keep tabs on what’s going on in the industry. One company that has really been getting a lot of exposure lately is Network Marketing. Now, Network Marketing has been around for a while, but after being approached by several Network Marketing reps over the last couple of weeks, I decided to take a closer look at what they were doing. In this Network Marketing Review, I’ll go into the company’s background, the service it provides, the compensation plan and, most importantly, I will address the question: Can you really make money sending people cards?

The Background Of Network Marketing

Network Marketing, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, was started in 2004 by Kody Bateman. Bateman, who is the current CEO of Network Marketing, started the company because of an unfortunate tragedy that occurred in his life.

In 1989, Bateman had just graduated from college with a Marketing degree. He was offered a job in New York. As he was packing his car to leave  he saw his brother Kris in the distance. He had a “prompting” to go over and give his brother a hug and say good bye. But he was rushing so he ignored the prompting and beeped the horn and waved.

A few months later, he got a call in the middle of the night. His brother had been killed in a tragic accident. The first thing that popped into Kody’s mind was how he had ignored the prompting to say goodbye to his brother. He made a promise that night that he would never ignore another prompting and would help others to act on their promptings as well… The idea for Network Marketing was born.

What Does Network Marketing Actually Do?

Network Marketing will actually allow you to mail out actual greeting cards to people to let them know you are thinking about and appreciate them. With one click of your mouse, you can design your card, write a personal note and have the company package it and mail it for you. It takes about 60 seconds and costs about the same, or sometimes a little less, than it would cost you to do it on your own. But the real value here is saving time and convenience. Think about it, on any given holiday or if you were to send out invitations for a party, how long would it take you to write out 100-200 cards, package and stamp them and then run to the post office to send them out. With Network Marketing, you can literally send out hundreds of cards in a matter of minutes, from the comfort of your home.  This card service is pretty useful, not only for sending out cards to personal contacts, but for sending out cards to potential prospects or thank you cards to people you’ve done business with. It’s because of this, that many salespeople, specifically real estate agents and financial services reps, are signing up for the program. Not only do they see an opportunity to generate another stream of income, but they’re already spending a ton of money sending out mailers and thank you cards to their prospects and clients.

One last note, besides cards, Network Marketing also allows you to send out gifts to accompany the cards if you want.

But Can You Make Money Sending Out Cards?

To get started with Network Marketing, it costs between $99 and $298, depending on what package you start with. Once you’ve enrolled there are seven different ways you can make money with Network Marketing’ unilevel compensation plan. Now, while there are seven components to the compensation plan, they can pretty much be put into two categories: Weekly upfront income for sponsoring new reps and monthly back-end residual income from your organization sending out cards. The opportunity does look very lucrative, assuming you can personally sponsor new reps into your business and teach your reps how to effectively sponsor new reps as well.

In closing, Network Marketing is not a scam. If you do your research, it’s clear to see that Network Marketing is a very credible and solid business opportunity. However, simply joining Network Marketing will not guarantee you success.  All Network Marketing provides is a distributor position and an opportunity for you to build your own business. Ultimately, your success will rely on your ability to brand yourself, market and generate more leads than you can get to. It’s critical, if you’re serious, to obtain the knowledge and skills that will allow you to personally sponsor 10-20 reps a month. Without this marketing knowledge, even though Network Marketing is a solid business, you will struggle and be dead in the water.
