The List Will Cost You Your MLM Business

Today like about 4 or 5 days a week I was eating lunch at
Calistoga (Panera on Steroids). I go there because they
have the best French Onion Soup in the world, awesome
music, great atmosphere, and Free Wi/Fi! What more do you
want from a great place for lunch.

Anyway, I get a call from an old business partner while I
was there and we get to talking about "the list". You know
what the list is right?

The List is what every MLM company has on their quick
start manual.  Does your MLM Business have this in thier
manual? To me it is the reason over 90% of all
network marketers fail! Now this is going to raise some
eyebrows, and I welcome any comments, but I stand by that
statement. If most companies teach this and that many
people fail… humm you connect the dots!

The reason that this way to market your MLM business
doesn't work for most people is that most people don't know
enough people that would even be inclined to do network marketing
or that would even be interested in starting their own home
based business. Then if the people you know like the idea
of network marketing… do they like the particular business
that you are doing? I mean someone that might like to sell
vitamins... might not like the idea of selling life insurance.
There is just too much stacked up against you if you are
only going to market to the people that you currently know.

Then there is the issue of whether you know enough people
that are business oriented or just like the idea of a
regular paycheck they get from a job. Even if you know a
lot of top people that want to do what you are doing… do
you think they are going to be as persuasive as you? What
ends up happening in a situation like this is that your
organization grows at first from your efforts and then it
starts to dwindle. It ends up looking like a diamond…
small at the start, big in the middle, but then it tappers
off at the bottom.

Now, if you are interested in growing your MLM Business
fast you must target the market you are going to hit. What
would be this target market?

Well just like an NBA, NFL, or MLB team targets people that
not only have shown they like that sport… they look for people
that are great at that sport!
 
What they definitely don't do is go after friends and
family to come play for their team because they look
like they are in shape and might like the sport… that would be
ridiculous.

So you too must look for other people that have shown
interest in MLM, that have the qualities that would make
them a good team player, that have some of the skills they
will need to be successful.

How do you find them?

Well there are three ways.

First, if you have been around the industry
for a while you might have met people you might want to do
business with. However, most of us don't have list of
network marketers big enough to make this a real option.
 
Second, you can purchase genealogy lists. These list are
made up of people that have been involved in a MLM company
that has gone out of business. You can find these lists
all over the internet. They are usually very inexpensive
to buy, and can contain many Network Marketers that would
be willing to take a look at your opportunity. However,
because so many of these lists are either old or over
worked you will have to spend many hours on the phone
getting wrong numbers, people that have already found
another MLM company, or people that are no longer
interested in network marketing.

The third option is you best option. Use the internet as
a tool to attract network marketers to you. Network
marketers that are actively looking for a company IS your
target market, and the internet is full of them.  What you
need is a system that attracts that particular segment of
the internet to you. There are people that have mastered
this system to the point that they never have to call a
prospect.  The prospect either contact them first or in
many cases they actually join you team before they even
call you!
