Shaklee Corporation is a privately-held manufacturer and distributor of environmentally nutritional supplements, weight-management products, beauty products, and household products.

The company is based in Pleasanton, California with operations in Canada, China, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, and Taiwan.  The company sells its products through a multi-level marketing network and claims a combined base of 750,000 members (customers) and distributors.

Shaklee Products:

Shaklee places emphasis on manufacturing products that are non-toxic and non-chemical based.  In fact, every Shaklee product is 100% safe to use.

The company conducts 350 tests on ever new ingredient for heavy metals, pesticides, or any other harmful contaminants. They also conduct over 80,000 quality tests annually to guarantee the products purity and safety.

Basically, their belief is to have products that are always safe, always work, and are always green. Their products are generally well received and the company has created a loyal customer base.

Shaklee Home Business Opportunity:

It costs $9.00 to get started.  There are five ways to earn an income:

1. Profit on the sale of products.
2. GOLD Ambassador Bonuses
3. Personal Group Volume Bonuses
4. Leadership (Organizational) Volume Bonuses
5. Tru-Infinity Bonuses On Vivix Sales

Tru-Infinity is a Shaklee compensation plan where you earn by sharing a Vivix product with someone.  Each time you do this, you earn a reward.  Every time they share a Vivix product, you and the individuals you shared the product with are rewarded, and so on.

For every person you recruit, you earn $7.00.  This kind of compensation plan will require you to have a large downline because for every 200 people you bring in, you earn approximately $1000.  This does not mean you can't make this work. It does mean that you will have to learn some marketing skills and have a marketing plan in place.

Shaklee Training & Tools:

Unlike many of the MLM and network marketing companies, Shaklee does offer some tools and trainings to help their new distributors with their business.

On their website, they do talk about using social marketing sites like Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn to generate lead flow for your business.

They also offer other various trainings and support; such as conference calls, one-on-one coaching, live meetings, multi-media communications, and more.

Below are a list of the tools and trainings offered by Shaklee to their distributors:

1. Leadership and coaching from experienced individuals.
2. Product and business training tools in every format; CDs, DVD's, online through the Shaklee University web site.
3. Monthly conference calls with business updates and health information.
4. Online business management can customer relationship management tools and tracking.
5. Distributor web site to be used for placing orders by customers or you and downloadable tools and product information.
6. Personal web sites to help give you a presence on the internet to be used for marketing your business and products.
7. Local, Regional, and Global Conferences and events.
8. Opportunities to team up with others in your organization to earn extra rewards and prizes; such as luxurious trips.

Conclusion:

Shaklee Corporation does seem to be a network marketing company that offers its members a variety of advantages; such as, great products, tools and training, and support.

I will add that marketing the company and the products upfront is not the most effective way of marketing.  Many distributors; especially inexperienced ones, will encounter a lot of rejection this way.  The best approach to marketing a business, either online or offline, is to market yourself.  Think of your business as "YOU Inc".  This approach puts the people you talk to at ease and thus they are more willing to talk to you.  Having a reputation as someone who is all about selling and recruiting will have people running away from you.  Using the "YOU Inc." approach will allow people to get to know you and eventually establish trust in you.  This will eventually lead them to possibly buying your products, and even joining your business.

This same approach should be used using other vehicles of marketing like FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  Let people get to know you.  By knowing you, they will discover what business you are involved in and about your products.  This is also a way in which you can start branding YOU and not the company.  By doing this, it positions you as a leader, someone with authority who has a solution to problems in health, weight management, and more.

One of the key factors to positioning yourself as a leader is to first increase your value by learning skills in marketing and in business.  Then let others know, in particular, other network marketers, that you have this knowledge and you are willing to share and help them with your business.  All of this information I am sharing with you pertains to "Attraction Marketing".  This is type of marketing is a marketing methodology that can be applied online and offline and could potentially increase your bottom line much more quickly end effortlessly.  But, first you have to learn how to use "Attraction Marketing" in order to get any results.
